[Phones Are Physical Spyware]
Everything on your phone is spying on you.
Depending on what phone you have, The Apple or G**gle shadow government are always watching. Always listening. Constantly sending telemetry to various datacenters.
Every device within arms reach of you that contains a microphone is recording at all times, and has the potential to (or currently is, if you're a targeting individual) sending that data back to HQ.
Admittedly, the iOS telemetry is far less than any device running Android. This does not make Apple innocent, or mean you should trust them.
Harvested data is stored, sold, and shared to "advertising agencies and industry partners", basically anyone who asks.
The calculator program on your phone should have no need to require fingerprint data as a permission. (Here's looking at you, Samsung)
Never use biometrics on a phone (fingerprint, face unlock, etc).
Everything typed on these devices is keylogged. Install a FOSS keyboard such as the
FUTO Keyboard to dodge keylogging.
Replacing the keyboard software will only reduce keylogging harvested by the keyboard program itself. The operating system can still sniff inputs.
Anything to obfuscate or reduce harvested data helps.
Everything viewed or interacted with on these devices can be remotely viewed and recorded, without any notification or consent.
A user of such devices always has their location compromised, even with airplane mode on, unless said user is using an EMF shielding (faraday) bag.
If you have an android device: root it, debloat it,unlock the bootloader, and then install the following:
The g**gle pixel lineup of devices are supported by two major privacy focused Operating Systems:
calyxOS, and Graphene OS, both of which were built from the ground up to be privacy respecting and they disable all of the telemetry/spying possible from the software side of things.
Note that Graphene OS is dramatically better than CalyxOS.
I would stick to Graphene OS unless you have some autistic need to specifically use Calyx OS.

Install CalyxOS
If your device does not support CalyxOS, then use LineageOS.

If your device is not supported by any of the above listed LineageOS versions, then buy a PinePhone or Librem 5.
(pine64 also makes a variety of great products btw.)
These two phones run a variant of mainline linux. Both are highly configurable, and FOSS, making them privacy respecting by default.
